BETHEL KINGSTON WORSHIP APPLICATION

Thank you for your interest in worship ministry at Bethel! Please take time to carefully read and reply to all of the questions below.

Ex. Rogers, Koodo, Fido. This is required for sending scheduling notification in the future.

BETHEL'S VISION & MISSION

As a church, our VISION is to "Respond to the Heart of God; Transform the Heart of the City, the Nation and the World." We work towards our Vision through our Mission, Values, Strategy and Marks:

MISSION: To love God passionately and serve other’s significantly.
VALUES: Team; Excellence; Authenticity; Relevance; Solidarity.
STRATEGY: Growing in intimacy with God; Growing in intimacy with others; Growing in acts of service.
MARKS: Heart for God; Biblically measured; Prayerfully engaged; Relationally whole; Committed to the whole gospel for the whole world.

The purpose of Bethel’s Worship Team is to use our instruments, voices, and our talents to glorify God, and to use them as a tool to engage Bethel’s worshippers to experience, embrace, and grow in our Vision.

We also desire that you will experience, embrace, and grow in our Vision you serve on this Team, and that you will be an encouragement for your team members towards the same.

WORSHIP TEAM AGREEMENT

Please read all of the information below carefully.

Being part of the worship team means I will commit to the following.

(A) TIME COMMITMENT
• Sunday Services: Bethel currently has one Sunday church service at 10:00AM
• Rehearsals: The weekly Worship Leader schedules mid-week and/or Sunday morning rehearsals in coordination with the Worship Team.
• Team Rotation: We aim to have four Worship Teams that serve on a monthly rotation; you may also receive additional requests to serve as need requires.

I commit myself to faithfully practice in preparation for rehearsals and worship times at Bethel. This includes viewing the lead sheets, listening to the music if available to me, and practicing my instrument or vocal parts. I agree to be on time and know my parts before rehearsals and Sunday morning service. I will arrive early enough to set up my equipment prior to rehearsal.

(B) GUIDELINES FOR ABSENSES
If I am unable to participate on a scheduled rehearsal or church service, I understand it is my responsibility to my Team Lead as soon as possible and update my availability on Planning Center.

(C) PLANNING CENTER
I will learn how to use Planning Center (www.planningcenteronline.com) to, among other things, obtain chord charts, view worship song sets, and find out other details for the upcoming service. In addition, I will respond to email requests sent via Planning Center and will communicate my availability by adding Blackout Dates to my profile.

(D) WORSHIPPERS, NOT PERFORMERS
There are plenty of venues in which musicians perform music, but Bethel’s Sunday morning service isn’t one of them. The sole purpose of participating on the team is to lead worship.

(E) DRESS CODE
Our purpose as worship team members is to draw people closer to God, not distract them during that time with Him. To do this well we have some guidelines around dress. If you would like to better understand our heart behind this, please don’t hesitate to ask. Generally speaking, our style of clothing is casual. Please wear clean clothing that is not too tight or revealing. Refrain from wearing shirts that bear obscenities or images that do not coincide with the Christian faith.

(F) DISCIPLESHIP PLEDGE
Becoming a worship team member at Bethel means that you choose to live out the mission and the values of our church. You represent Jesus and Bethel Church, and you model for others what our Christian community is all about. As a team member representing Jesus and Bethel Church, I will strive to:
• Live my personal and public life as a passionate follower of Jesus.
• Grow as a disciple by developing regular rhythms of prayer, bible reading, worship, and sabbath.
• Live out God’s mission to get people and God deeply connected.
• Lead with quality and excellence in everything I do.
• Invest in my skills so I can be the best team member that I can be.
• Grow in Christ’s likeness in every part of my life including my relationships with others, how I present myself both in person and online, and what I fill myself with.
• Submit myself to relationships of mutual accountability within our leadership team.
• Care for my emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical health.
• Live out the values of Bethel Church, Kingston.
